This week we are excited to be celebrating Halloween! Tomorrow we are having a party because we earned 100 points as a class and decided our reward would be a Halloween Party! We are excited to share some of our Halloween art with you. Please see the pictures above. In math we are learning all about patterns. This week we focused on multiplication. We have learned two new ways to solve a multiplication problem. One way is to turn the multiplication questions into an addition sentence and the other is to stack them or draw a picture of the groups. Having a picture or visual is helping us learn. We also use the 100's chart when we need help, it is a great math tool! We are also very very very excited about being part of the Classroom Champions program this year! Our mentor is Bridgette Lacquette! She is an amazing hockey player and we are so excited to be working with her this year. We will be sharing our learning and growth with her. This month we talked about what it means to be a mentor and what a great mentor does. We can't wait to see what we will be learning next in our work with the Classroom Champions program. Thank you so much for reading our first full class blog! We had lots of fun brainstorming, writing and selecting pictures for our post! Happy Halloween from the grade 5's in room 32!

We have had a busy month in grade 5! We have been learning lots and can wait to start writing our class blog. We will be taking time to create, share and document our work through our class blog. Please stay tuned as we will be posting our first class blog entry in the coming week. This month has been an exciting one with lots of fun news and announcements! We had the opportunity to develop and share our locker proposal, which was approved! We now have our own lockers and are doing amazing work showing responsibility and leadership in the school. We also learned that we will be participating in the Classroom Champions program this year. We can't wait to share more with you in our upcoming class blog entry. We had some great learning experiences this month including the opportunity to work with the MRU Nurses at school to learn some different wellness activities we can incorporate into our daily routines at school and at home. We look forward to sharing our learning with you! |
