This week we have been busy learning all about multiplication. We have been practicing our facts and playing different math games to help build our fluency. In gym we are having so much fun snowshoeing. We are taking time on the land to see the changes in our community and school. We learned how to put on our snowshoes and have been really enjoying our time on the land. We completed our regions projects in social studies and we are wrapping up our weather unit in science. We are documenting weather and weather change and also learning about clouds. We have learned that you can study and watch clouds to help predict weather and weather changes. We also want to share that next week is our last week before the winter break. Thursday, December 19th is the last day of school. We have some exciting visitors coming to school next week! We can wait to share with you! Next week we will also start the week off with door decorating! We have completed some plans as a class and did some brainstorming so we can have our door decorated and ready for the last week before the break. We can wait to share our work with you next week! Have a great weekend! Grade 5

We are so excited to share our work and learning with you. We had a very busy and fun week filled with lots of different activities. We had two major highlights of the week that we want to share with you. This week we had our Winter Solstice Celebration as a school. We preformed a reader's theatre presentation. Everyone in our class played an important role in our production. We had actors, speakers, drummer, and our own videographer. We really had fun performing and connecting with our school community.
We are been working through our Classroom Champions lessons and just wrapped up our goal setting unit. We created individual short term and long term goals and we had the opportunity to share them with our amazing Classroom Champion Mentor, Brigette Lacquette. We are now working on our community unit. We will be brainstorming and finding different ways to help in our class and school community. We also had an amazing opportunity this week! We got to meet our Classroom Champion, Brigette, in person at school!! It was such a great experience. We had time to ask questions, share goals and even demonstrate some different math games. We also had a Teacher Vs. Students hockey game and the students won. We have been working hard on our weather unit in science and a learning about different weather instruments and how the land can show us sign of weather and weather change. We are excited to share some of our work with you. Here are some photos of our visit from Brigette, our Science work in weather and our goal setting work. Thanks so much! Grade 5 |
