The grade 5's are so excited to share about their learning this week!
We had a busy week of learning at Piitoayis Family School. We have been working on a STEM project called, " The great chain race" where you have to build the longest chain with just a single piece of paper. Students have to measure, cut, compare and invent creative ways to build the longest chain. Students worked in teams and we compared and measured our chains using standard measurement, millimetres, centimetres and meters. We ordered the chains greatest to least and have begun to work on graphing , and examining our work by finding, the range of number measurements, the median number, mode number and mode. We will be using what we learn from this project to work on a school wide Tipi projects. We look forward to sharing more with you soon. We also had a great experience on the land when we went on a class community walk. We were focused on walking with purpose, showing Kakyosin and we made lots of amazing connections. We completed a walk along in the Inglewood Wilds park and discovered signs of life and changes in the weather. We made observations and had a wonderful class discussion and circle. We shared our school song with Na'a and enjoyed drumming together on the land. We are looking forward to move learning on the land and will keep you updated on our learning. Thanks so much for reading our blog!
